  1. Hi Ma'am Mela! What's the difference between MS WORD 2007 and MS WORD 2010?

  2. Hi Christine! The difference between MS WORD 2007 to MS WORD 2010 is which further updated the Office applications and added some features not included in Office 2
    007.

The Microsoft Office Ribbon was introduced in Office 2007. Featured only in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, the Office Ribbon replaced the traditional menu structure of earlier versions of Microsoft Office and was designed to simplify the user interface. With Office 2010, Microsoft included the Office Ribbon as a major feature in all its Office applications, including Outlook, Visio, and OneNote. A notable difference between the 2007
Office Ribbon and the 2010 Office Ribbon is the replacement of 2007's "Office" button with a full-featured "File" tab in Office 2010 version.

    Enhanced Image Editing

Microsoft Office 2010 introduced new features to the built-in image editor included with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The new features allow you to enhance images within your documents with a variety of artistic photo
effects, much like the photo filters of Adobe Photoshop. The image tools of Office 2010 also allow you to remove the background of pictures and clip art, providing you with a powerful tool for seamlessly integrating images in your documents.

    Application-Specific Features

Each of the Microsoft Office 2010 application comes with a variety of new features not included in Office 2007. Outlook 2010 includes conversation management tools, an enhanced calendar preview, and enhanced support for Windows Mobile devices. Excel 2010 features a new "Sparklines" feature that creates enhanced visual
representations of data. PowerPoint 2010 comes with a much-needed upgrade to its video and image editing tools, and includes enhancedsupport for video integration in your presentations. Finally, Word 2010 includes dozens of new WordArt effects and the ability to capture screenshots from within the application.

  3. Maam Mela, When was the first MS Word Office introduced to market? Who invented this application?

  4. Hello Alfredo! The first version of Microsoft Word was developed by Charles Simonyi and Richard Brodie, former Xerox programmers hired by Bill Gates and Paul Allen in 1981.The first Word version, Word 1.0, was released in October 1983 for Xenix and MS-DOS; it was followed by four very similar versions that were not very successful. The first Windows version was released in 1989, with a slightly improved interface. When Windows 3.0 was released in 1990, Word became a huge commercial success. Word for Windows 1.0 was followed by Word 2.0 in 1991 and Word 6.0 in 1993. Then it was renamed to Word 95 and Word 97, Word 2000 and Word for Office XP (to follow Windows commercial names). With the release of Word 2003, the numbering was again year-based. Since then, Word 2007, Word 2010, Word 2013, and most recently, Word 2016 have been released for Windows.

In 1986, an agreement between Atari and Microsoft brought Word to the Atari ST.[1] The Atari ST version was a translation of Word 1.05 for the Apple Macintosh; however, it was released under the name Microsoft Write (the name of the word processor included with Windows during the 80s and early 90s).[2][3] Unlike other versions of Word, the Atari version was a one time release with no future updates or revisions. The release of Microsoft Write was one of two major PC applications that were released for the Atari ST (the other application being WordPerfect). Microsoft Write was released for the Atari ST in 1988.

In 2014 the source code for Word for Windows in the version 1.1a was made available to the Computer History Museum and the public for educational purposes.

    1. The Microsoft Word is regularly updated and has known many versions throughout the years, ever since its inception in 1983. It is obviously compatible with the several versions of Microsoft Windows, but there are also Mac versions available. As it is used by almost everyone, Microsoft Word basically defines the field of word processing and sets itself as the essential tool to create, change and read text documents. I hope you learned.
