KNOW YOURSELF -- PHOBIAS

A Phobia is a persistent, excessive, or unreasonable fear of something to the point of impairment. Someone with a phobia may feel fear or anxiety in the presence of the object or during a situation, or they may feel fear or anxiety in the anticipation of encountering that thing or situation.
Having phobias can disrupt daily routines, limit work efficiency, reduce self-esteem, and place a strain on relationships because people will do whatever they can to avoid the uncomfortable and often-terrifying feelings of phobic anxiety. While some phobias develop in childhood, most seem to arise unexpectedly, usually during adolescence or early adulthood. Their onset is usually sudden, and they may occur in situations that previously did not cause any discomfort or anxiety.
As far as I know, the only phobia I have is "Scoleciphobia" or the fear of worms. For me, it is really disgusting and it made me feel itchy whenever I saw worms especially if it is slimy. HUHUHU!! (T_T)

  1. I did not expect that there is a fear of beautiful woman. What can be the cause of Caligynephobia?

    1. Caligynephobia, otherwise known as Venustraphobia or simply Gynephobia, is the abnormal fear of beautiful women. Sure, many men can become intimidated by gorgeous girls, and men are not the only ones who suffer from this phobia, but this condition takes intimidation to the extreme.

Phobias are often described as an extreme and/or irrational fear to any one stimulus. Again, there is a major difference between the intimidation that many people feel around beautiful women and a legitimate phobia. The phobia of beautiful women is extreme, and can often lead to other problems. The causes of Caligynephobia can vary from person to person, depending on the extent of the fear, the individual’s characteristics, and mental status at the time of the stimulus (ex. an attractive woman walking past). However, Caligynephobia, as a whole, does have symptoms to look out for. To begin, individuals may suffer social problems in relation to Caligynephobia. For instance, people with this phobia may have a tough time being around (i.e. feeling uncomfortable, nervous, etc.) or even speaking to a beautiful woman. I hope you learn!

  3. Thank you for the question. The fear of crowds is called Enochlophobia which is also known by different names such as Ochlophobia and Demophobia. As the name indicates, this phobia consists of an irrational fear of large crowds and gatherings of people. Enochlophobia is closely related to Agoraphobia (which is the fear of and desire to avoid situations wherein one believes s/he may be subjected to incapacitation, humiliation etc). For the second phobia which is fear of losing someone is called thantophobia. I hope you learned thankyou :)
